Option 1: Hybrid Online Learning

Students meet weekly after school via video conference with a real-time teacher via an online curriculum.

The instructor covers the material that the students will work on during the remainder of the week. Students work independently during the following week, and bring their questions or issues to the instructor during the weekly video conference time.

This class format makes the MEGSSS program available to students outside the St. Louis area.

  • Enjoy access to the online curriculum around the clock. This program is designed to fit into your child’s busy schedule with the advantage of an in-person, real time teacher one day per week.
  • The online Elements class is fully online learning, but MEGSSS will have in-person support to assist your child. Our distinguished Faculty Member, Jeannie Ra, will answer questions, provide course clarification, and content assistance once a week for this hybrid online learning experience.
  • The live teacher-supported class will run via Google Meet.
  • There is a one-time non-refundable registration fee of $25
  • Tuition for each semester (two semesters per year) is $595

Once your payment for registration and tuition is received, your place in the class is secured.

Option 2: In Person Learning

Students meet weekly after school with an instructor.

The instructor covers the material that the students will work on during the remainder of the week. This enables the students to work independently, and bring questions or issues to the instructor during in-class time.  This class meets at local schools in the St. Louis area.

    • Elements First Year program in person at the Lindbergh High School Gifted and Talented Center, led by Dr. Douglas Hunt.
    • A second Elements First Year program in person will be held at Sperrent Middle School, also led by Dr. Douglas Hunt.

The same enrollment steps and pricing as the virtual class apply to our in-person course.

  • Registration for the second semester will be available in November.
  • There is a one-time non-refundable registration fee of $25
  • Tuition for each semester (two semesters per year) is $595
  • Once your payment for registration and tuition is received, your place in the class is secured.

What Is Project MEGSSS?

(Mathematics Education for Gifted Secondary School Students)

Math Jam is a summer camp program created by Project MEGSSS.

Project MEGSSS was incorporated as a 501(c)3 organization in 1980, the offshoot of a Saint Louis-based, government-funded educational research project.

Based on the Elements of Mathematics, a curriculum designed to enrich and expand the mathematical abilities of middle school students, this unique core program broadens exposure to the world of mathematics and focuses on reinforcing elementary and middle school math concepts and logic in preparation for high-level mathematics in secondary school and college.
