Job Description: Outreach Coordinator (Part-Time)
Organization: Project MEGSSS (Mathematics Enrichment for Gifted Secondary School Students)
Location: St. Louis, MO (Remote with local travel)
Position Type: Part-Time, 40 hours/month
Pay range: $25 to $30/hour
About Us:
Project MEGSSS is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing exceptional mathematics enrichment for gifted middle school students. Our programs challenge and support exceptional learners, preparing them for advanced academic success.
We are seeking a passionate and results-driven Outreach Coordinator to promote Project MEGSSS programs to local schools and districts, build relationships with educators, and grow our summer school program. This position offers a flexible schedule, meaningful work, and the chance to make an impact in the St. Louis community.
Responsibilities:
– School Outreach & Promotion:
Build and maintain relationships with schools, administrators, and educators, primarily in the Gifted and Math Departments of middle schools in the St. Louis area to raise awareness of Project MEGSSS.
– Summer Program Development: Assist in developing and expanding the summer school program, including planning logistics, recruiting participants, and collaborating with staff.
– Event Representation: Represent Project MEGSSS at educational events, school meetings, and community activities.
– Materials & Communication: Create and distribute promotional materials, manage outreach communications, create posts and short videos for social media promotion, and track engagement using a CRM system (training provided if needed).
– Reporting & Updates: Provide regular progress updates to the Executive Director and President of the Board of Directors, including outreach activity, recruitment numbers, and program feedback.
What Success Looks Like:
– Scheduling an initial meeting with at least 10 new schools or districts and Building relationships with 2 of them in the first 4 months.
– Securing 20+ students for each of the 2 weeks of the summer school program annually.
– Actively participating in at least 2 educational or community events per month.
– Timely social media posts or short videos regarding your outreach efforts.
– Maintaining an organized and accurate record of outreach efforts and follow-ups in the CRM system.
What to Expect in This Role:
– Local Travel: You can expect to travel primarily within the St. Louis Metropolitan Area visiting nearby schools, meetings with area clubs/organizations/

– Training Opportunities: We will provide training on any tools or systems required for the role, including the CRM platform, to ensure your success.
Qualifications:
– Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
– Passion for education and working with gifted students.
– Ability to work independently and manage your time effectively.
– Experience in education, community outreach, marketing, or program development is a plus, but not required.
– Reliable transportation for local travel and the ability to attend in-person events.
